Gary Griffin is an American musician best known for performing as a keyboardist and vocalist with The Beach Boys, Brian Wilson, Jan and Dean and The Surf City Allstars.Griffin has appeared as a regular on several television shows, most notably General Hospital and Full House.
He has also served as music director, alongside producer John Stamos, for the Emmy-nominated television mini-series, The Beach Boys: An American Family for ABC.
He has continued to work with various members of The Beach Boys, most recently as a keyboardist and engineer for their 50th anniversary release, That’s Why God Made the Radio. Since 2016, Griffin has been touring extensively with Brian Wilson, singing and playing keyboards, vibes and percussion.
Highlights have included the Pet Sounds 50th Anniversary World Tours, the 2018 Christmas show and concerts featuring music from the Beach Boys’ Friends and Surf’s Up albums, as well as Brian’s greatest hits.
Gary’s first collaboration with Syn was for the Nick Wood single, ‘Free’, produced for Marc Newson’s mobile phone, ‘Talby’ in 2003. Since then, Gary has collaborated on projects such as ‘2021 Might Not Suck’ for CNN, Starbuck’s Kid’s Christmas collection and backing vocals on Nick Wood’s theme song for the Marc Newson’s metal surfboard film at Gagosian Gallery in 2007.
