UHNELLYS are a two-piece indie band from Tokyo, Japan. Kim (lead vocal, bass, guitar and trumpet) and Midi (drums and backing vocals) create an original structure and sound in which the boundaries of rock, hip-hop, and jazz are blurred to create something unique.
UHNELLYS are a rising star in Tokyo and beyond, in no small part due to Kim's incredible singing and rapping skills, and Midi's musical craftsmanship, energy and self-expression on drums. Often referred to as a hip-hop, jazz, rock version of the White Stripes, UHNELLYS prove that the voice is a musical instrument in its own right, and they use this talent to structure beats and sounds in their songs.
Their addition to the ‘Made In Japan’ catalogue by Syn Songs led to them being placed in HBO’s Tokyo Vice Season 1 (2022), with their unmistakable sound being a stand-out needle drop in the show.
