Syn is proud to reveal our latest work with HLN, providing music and sound design for their latest promotional campaign for Death Row Stories. This Original Series features true stories told by current and former death row inmates, examining the dirty underbelly of the U.S. justice system. Syn worked closely with the creative team at CNN to compose and produce the perfect bone-chilling score to promote HLN’s new series. String techniques like slow slides and percussive col legno technique incite unease, while low, roomy percussion and a bowed saw create an atmosphere to represent the impossible weight that bears on the criminals featured in the series. Our original sound design tells the rest of the story behind the static visual. As always a massive thanks to Whit Friese, Dan Brown, Shonda Cooper, and the rest of the CNN team, along with Amy Palmer, Nate Howe and the fantastic team at NHS Creative for helping bring this project to life.
