The Shinmonzen is a luxury boutique hotel opened in 2021 in the beautifully preserved Gion Shirakawa and Shinmonzen Street – a Kyoto neighbourhood rich in arts and culture.
Designed by contemporary architect Tadao Ando with the interior designed by Remy Tessier, the hotel collaborated with our team to develop playlists for the lobby lounge and entrance that, like the hotel itself, creates an atmosphere that blends contemporary and traditional elements for a world class experience.
The Shinmonzen provides a highly personalized experience with Japanese Omotenashi as the core combined with the refined epicureanism shaped by its sister property Villa La Coste in Provence, designed to create ever-lasting memories. To embody this unique offering, Syn designs key mixes that blend ambient music by Japanese artists with songs by French artists in a conscious harmony with the hotel’s sister property in Provence. We are also excited to also curate the signature music for the highly anticipated restaurant Jean-Georges, opening soon.
