UNIQLO - 24 Hours with Roger

Syn recently had the opportunity to contribute to a project for Uniqlo, collaborating with Syn’s Sub-publisher, UK-based publisher Sentric Music, whose music supervisors introduced the project.
Syn licensed ‘Transparent’ by Naka for Episode 3 of their ’24 Hours with Roger’ series, featuring Swiss former professional tennis player and sporting legend, Roger Federer. This episode titled ‘Flavours of Guizhou’ sees Roger Federer visit Shanghai to taste the amazing flavours from the region.
Naka is a very talented composer based in Shanghai. After he graduated from Berklee College of Music majoring in Film scoring,  he worked in animation, game, commercials, and film music. He has also worked for Syn's commercial music composition projects.
Syn’s Los Angeles-based producer Derek said, “We evaluated the brief that the client sent for this, which was broken down into 9 specific areas that they needed music for. The series took place in Shanghai, so they needed us to provide authentic Chinese music with a modern feel. The scene in question was Roger being given a peak by chef Zou Mingyang (邹明洋) "behind the curtain" of Maolago (毛辣果) restaurant in Shanghai, to which we cut to see them eating a steamy pot of the chef's famous tomato sour soup. They required an atmospheric and experimental track with allure and mystery. We identified and compiled playlists based upon the brief, and the music supervisor selected the track "Transparent" for this scene.”
The version of the track the client favored was a hidden gem, waiting to be added to the Syn Library. Since then, supported by the success of this campaign, the final version is available for licensing opportunities, showcasing the success of our collaboration.
